Our Mission
BSW’s mission is to serve, inspire, support, and educate poverty-stricken and vulnerable individuals, families, and communities on the DELMARVA Eastern Shore and surrounding areas. BSW coordinates with others to help build and sustain stronger communities causing life-changing experiences in low income and distressed regions.
Who We Are
Beside Still Waters, Inc. (BSW) was founded in 2022 with a mission that’s been making a profound impact on DELMARVA’S Eastern Shore. Its name was derived from Psalm 23:2b, “…He leads me beside the still waters.”
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are driven by a commitment to serve individuals and families in underserved, impoverished communities by providing essential, life-sustaining and life-changing resources.
Achieving Our Goals
At BSW our goal is simple yet powerful: to restore hope where it is needed most. We provide food, water, clothing, care packages, and other vital supplies and services to individuals facing severe hardship. Whether they are homeless, seniors, veterans, single parents, or children in need, we work tirelessly to meet people where they are—and help lift them toward where they want to be.
The mission is deeply personal. Our founder(s) was shaped by humble beginnings and firsthand experiences with poverty along the DELMARVA Eastern Shores. It is this intimate understanding of struggle that fuels our passion and determination to make a difference.

Served communities across Maryland and Virginia

Delivered essential support to shelters, schools, nursing homes, and faith-based and private organizations

Provided emergency services, food, water, clothing, and care packages

Adopted families during the holidays, delivering Christmas gifts and support to children, seniors, and those living in vehicles or without shelter

Offered special provisions for single parents and families in crisis

To date, BSW has directly supported approximately 100 individuals and families through our care package and Adopt-a-Family programs, offering not just resources, but hope and dignity.
